We'd just like to say thanks to Will at The Fly for writing a nice piece about us for this month's (May 2007) Fly, oh and to Chrisitan Giannelli for taking the AWESOME picture that we used for it!!!
The Sporting Life - New lease of "Sporting" life!!!

We all know about the crazy shenanigans that hit The Sporting Life's last gig at Korova, well this time it'll be the band that are on fire, not the venue, and the only fire alarm that will be going off is the one in your hearts, and the only fire engine that will be turning up is the... well, you see where I'm going with this... be there...
The Sporting Life - Spring 2007?! Yes it's time to get in shape!
The Sporting Life make their Liverpool debut at Korova, on Wood Street. It's a Saturday night so make sure you're wearing the appropriate training gear, and sensible footwear, and get ready to loose a few pounds dancin' yo' asses off!!!

Married to the Sea - ...and so with heavy hearts, and a tear in our eyes, we head home to dock
The MTTS Tour has finally come to an end! A big thanks has to go out to Simon Ashmore for his awesome camera work! Thanks to everyone who came out to the shows, especially Nick Henderson and Adam Melia for helping us take on Devon! Thanks to everyone who put us up (and put up with us!, all of the promoters and all the guys out there that bought CDs. Thanks also to Simon & Lorna for an awesome end of tour party and Delayed Promise for stepping in for Welcome To Okie! Roll on next time!!!
I Piñata - I Piño-more!
So we kept this on the down-low for a while, but I Piñata did indeed split. Fear not as Ian and CJ are continuing in Welcome To Okie, Ste has teamed up with new recruits Henry and Luke to form The Sporting Life. They played their debut show on the first date of the MTTS tour, and as you'd expect from Ste Lewin - it was awesome! Keep your faces peeled for some new shit comin' straight into your ears.
Married to the Sea - Tour? Whatever!
So some people are kinda gutted to have missed MTTS on our current tour - well fear not - we have some more shows in the pipeline; another show in Leeds, this time at the Hogshead with the magical OFM, a show for Banoffe Pie at the Cumberland Arms in Byker (PJ:"Jeff man, where's Spuggy?"Jeff:"I think she went down tha toon 'a getta stotty") and we may be doing a show in Newton-le-Willows with the always awesome Delayed Promise - Watch this space!!!
Welcome to Okie - Ouch!
For those of you that don't know - Che broke some bones in his neck and is in a crazy head harness. Clearly he won't be able to play at the Macclesfield show, so the wonderful Delayed Promise have stepped in last minute to fill their shoes!!!
Married to the Sea - Tour update...
Yo's!!!
Mid-way through our tour - and things are going great! We've shot a load of footage thanks to the amazing Mr Simon Ashmore, and played a wealth of cities and villages.
York was a blast with a nice set from Idle Jack, and most importantly the debut performance from The Sporting Life, if you liked I Pinata, then you'll love The Sporting Life.
Newcastle was cold, so we hit the "reduced" section of the nearby Tesco and warmed up by running around some kind of sculpture/monument then we were chased away by security.
Whitley Bay was witness to the amazing "Seaside man-challenge", where we have a sort of relay race involving the waves, a stick and our own stupidity. Oh, and we had some ace fish 'n' chips.
Getting to Blackpool was it's own little adventure. We got stuck in some crazy M6 traffic, so Si pulled out his love-able hand puppet, for arguments' sake let's call him Dr Wow, and we set about cheering up the motorway. (P.S. Squaddies are wankers). We took on the prom, and won - Si took us back to the 80's for a dance-off with the beach, needless to say the beach couldn't compete with Si's awesome Springsteen "Dancin' in the dark" moves. Friday night - Dust hit some dangerous rock shapes, and Limousine drove home some awesome music (pun intended).
Liverpool and Saturday were interesting... I saw my mate's brand new baby boy, the rest of the guys had laser-quest style duels in the street, and then we hit the carvery (only £3.50!!!). We hit the road and we hit the fog, it wasn't too bad at first, but there were a few scary bits coming off the motorway - YIKES!!!! We got to the Everyman, only to find out that they had double-booked us, so we had to move rooms. OFM had to pull out last minute as their guitarist was too ill to play, which was a shame as they'd come all the way from Donny (roll on Leeds in March!!!), so we took it on with Do Idea, and it was a blast! We kept the music going for a while and everyone had a good night in the end. Sunday was curry night.
Tonight we take on Leeds, The Packhorse may need reinforcing to take the full force of our new-found rock heavy-weight status, but fuck it, if the place falls down at least we went out rocking the shit out of it!
Sheffield Thursday (not Wednesday - arf arf!), Devon Friday, and Macclesfield Saturday - then home for a nice cup of tea and a soak in the bath to rest our tired touring legs!
Greg
Welcome to Okie - Ding-dong merrily on high!!!
Christmas is barely under our belts and already we're preparing for an event worthy of annual celebration - Ian is finally doing the right thing and making an honest woman of long-term girlfriend Michaela - Three cheers...
...Hip hip, hoorah!
...Hip hip, hoorah!
...Hip hip, hoorah!
